Osiecznica [ɔɕet͡ʂˈnit͡sa] (German: Wehrau) is a village in Bolesławiec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1] It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Osiecznica. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany.
It lies approximately 13 km (8 mi) north-west of Bolesławiec, and 116 km (72 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.
The village has a population of 1,000.
From 1975 to 1998 Osiecznica was in Jelenia Góra Voivodeship.
German geologist Abraham Gottlob Werner was born here.
